Daily/Weekly
Quick team huddles or stand-ups.
Focus: alignment, blockers, and immediate priorities.
Monthly
Strategy and progress reviews.
Focus: outcomes, learnings, and course corrections.
Quarterly
In-person team offsites (where possible).
Focus: connection, culture, and long-term direction.
Annually
Big-picture reset and celebration.
Focus: values, vision, and growth.
A Story of Cadence in Action
A mid-sized council I worked with introduced a 12-week cadence model. Instead of sprawling projects with fuzzy deadlines, they set clear quarterly priorities. Each week was focused, each month was reviewed, and each quarter was celebrated.
The result? Project rollover rates dropped by 30%, and engagement scores rose. Cadence turned chaos into clarity.
