Here’s a simple cadence model I share with leadership teams:


  1. Daily/Weekly

    • Quick team huddles or stand-ups.

    • Focus: alignment, blockers, and immediate priorities.

  2. Monthly

    • Strategy and progress reviews.

    • Focus: outcomes, learnings, and course corrections.

  3. Quarterly

    • In-person team offsites (where possible).

    • Focus: connection, culture, and long-term direction.

  4. Annually

    • Big-picture reset and celebration.

    • Focus: values, vision, and growth.



A Story of Cadence in Action


A mid-sized council I worked with introduced a 12-week cadence model. Instead of sprawling projects with fuzzy deadlines, they set clear quarterly priorities. Each week was focused, each month was reviewed, and each quarter was celebrated.


The result? Project rollover rates dropped by 30%, and engagement scores rose. Cadence turned chaos into clarity.
