Why Do We Need More Courageous Leaders?
Leadership has certainly taken a big shift in the last couple of years, but probably in the last decade as well.
And it's titled “Rise of the Courageous Leader” because I think we're going to be seeing another iteration of leadership again in the next five-ish years.
If you have a look at what people are looking to get out of work, we know that there's a great resignation. We've heard about quiet quitting.
It's got all these great terms that have been coined, but really, it's around leaders connecting deeply with that people at that much, much more, I guess, caring empathetic level rather than just you know, leave your backpack at the door and come in and put your head down and turn the handle. It's very much around how can we connect and, you know, build a relationship with the people that we're working with day in and day out because we spend a lot of time with them.
And I think when it comes to courageous leaders, it's going you know, this feels a bit icky, it feels a little bit unnatural, I might need to show a little bit of vulnerability, I might need to you know, flex a muscle that I don't normally flex.
And I really think that courage kind of encumbers all of which leaders really need to step up and do and go yep, it's gonna feel uncomfortable.
