Stop, Collaborate and Reflect

Updated: May 10, 2022

It’s that weird time between Christmas and New Years, where you’re not sure what day it is and what do with yourself.

Polish off the leftover pudding? Hit the couch and watch the Boxing Day test?

Stuff relaxing, this is the time to do all.the.things (usually me).

Plan out 2022 in all its magnificence? (Also me).

If you really want your new year to be wonderful #newyear #newyou Use this time in limbo to sit back and reflect.

Yep, that’s right, roll with it. Find your quiet place (mine is the ocean), and really take the time out to reflect on what 2019 brought you. What 2019 taught you. What in 2019 you’re grateful for, and what in 2019 you’d like to leave in the past. Use this time to reflect on all that you’ve achieved. All that you’ve accomplished. Leave your to-do list for a moment, and focus on your ta-da list. Why is reflection so important you ask?

It’s very easy to always be focusing on where we’re going (the carrot). What we forget and often make time for is reflection. When we take the time out to purposefully reflect we can learn so much. As an entrepreneur, business owner, wife and mother of four. I get asked all the time “How do you do it all?”

Nearly every time I shrug it off as ‘oh it’s nothing’. Until someone said to me, why do you do that? How do you wipe the slate clean? It caught me totally off guard. I WAS wiping the slate clean, and completely dismissing how much I accomplish. What a missed opportunity. So if you really want to start this new year, this new decade with 20/20 vision (see what I did there). Then use this time to reflect on where you’ve come from. If you’re not sure where to start. Grab your diary or calendar and flick back to January, start doing your own 2021 ‘audit’. What filled your heart with joy? What was productive?

What was profitable?

What was effective? What wasted your time?

What did you do, that you wish you did more of? Let me know how you go. Next week we’ll be using your ‘audit’ to start looking at how your want your 2022 to look and feel.

Until then, enjoy your new year and stay safe.
